I am really close to starting my project, and I cannot wait till it is done. The first thing I have to do is build the axle. That won't be easy, but when it is done everything will fall into place after. After that I will have to build the steel frame of the trailer. The axle will be an 89 inch sized axle, but that measures from the hub faces of the trailer. The trailer will also have aluminum sheets for the sides on the outside but will have plywood walls for the inside walls.

I have been talking to my mentor about how I want to build my project. For my trailer I have been leaning toward a 6 foot wide by 12 foot wide trailer. Nothing yet is set in stone about the dimensions for the trailer, but we are narrowing it down. I hope to learn a lot about welding when I am working on this project. I cannot wait for this trailer to be done because then I will have a place to set all of my waterfowl hunting equipment in a safe and dry place.
Lately we have been working on our senior papers for our senior projects. Our paper had to be at least 8 to 10 pages long, and mine was 9 pages. My paper was about how to successfully hunt waterfowl and how to do it the safe way. We also had to do more than just write a paper. We had to make a thesis statement, write a cover page, and write a works cited page that had to be alphabetized. Our teacher also went through them to correct some of our mistakes which will save us a lot of trouble when it comes to grading.
Lately we have been working on editing our weebly's. We have also been editing our senior proposals and letter of intent for Mrs. Nightingales class. We have 20 note cards due today for Mrs. Stekly's, class as well. I thought I knew almost everything about my research paper topic, but I am actually learning a lot more information. I think I should be able to get 8 pages of good information for my research paper because I am getting really good information from good books about waterfowl hunting and managing.
This week we have been working on our research papers. I have chosen to talk about the history and evolution of waterfowl hunting as my topic. We have been researching trying to find books and websites we can use for our research papers. We have also started filling out note cards and writing our thesis statement. I am going to talk about how to waterfowl hunt, the steps to it, what to use, and when you want to hunt. Also, I will talk about how to carve wood waterfowl decoys. There is a lot to waterfowl hunting information that a lot of people don't know. We have also had to choose a mentor for our project. I have chosen Duane Beckman because he knows a lot about building and welding.
This week we started working on senior projects. We have to come up with an idea for our research paper. We also have to find websites that we are going to use when we are writing our research papers. One idea that I have thought about is building an enclosed trailer to put all of my waterfowl decoys in. I have also thought about making a bale blind or making an entertainment center. I chose to build the enclosed trailer because it interested me the most.
